apartheidapartheid

In this opinion piece we will address the claim social media warriors are making online concerning, the current problems in South Africa, by telling the whole story of apartheid not just the part the South African propaganda machine tells its people, and we will point out the real reason there is poverty in South Africa today, but firstly we will explain the social media environment.

Social media

In the USA, several companies concluded that there is a massive market for LGBTQIA+ products because there are a massive amount of LGBTQIA+ posts and views on social media. However, once they attempted to cash out on the group they thought was so massive, they all ended up losing money because, in the real world, that support does not exist; it only exists on social media.

The same goes for the EFF and MKP, during the 2024 South African election cycle more the 9 out of every 10 posts from South Africa supported the EFF and the MKP parties. If you used that to predict the election results, the EFF and the MKP would have won the election by far, none of the other political parties appeared to be in the running at all. In the real world, the ANC and the DA had most of the support.

The social media ecosystem fools many people, let’s face it, it even fools companies run by billionaires. If you have gone online after Trump announced that he would block aid to South Africa, you will find many posts suggesting that white people should be killed and that all black South Africans want to be farmers.

But, in the real world? We did a 5yr study, (note: the sample group was very small), in 2019 we asked EFF voters, why they are voting EFF. They all said they wanted land, some added other things like, Malema is the only guy fighting for them, the ANC needs a reality check and so on, but most said they want land. 5 years later in 2024, we interviewed those same people, now they all had housing, either by means of RDP or by means of marriage, so we asked them who they were voting for, 100% of our small group changed their vote to either ANC or DA. They never received any land, just housing. We asked them why ANC and DA the reason they gave was, we need better jobs.

To reinforce our findings, in the beginning stages of the new South Africa, the ANC offered black South Africans land. only 6% took the land the rest sold it because they only wanted the money, they had no intention to farm.

Our conclusion is that even thou you see thousands of posts on social media that black South Africans want farmland, in the real world they want housing and jobs, that is the core issue, and that is what will win votes.

Apartheid

Let’s start with what you can see on social media and what is taught to the South African youth. Now as you probably already, know its not the whole story, and it is used to keep the ANC and EFF in power, and it is used by them to claim a moral high ground, which they actually do not have.

Now this is what you would have seen on social media over the last few days. The apartheid government divided the population into white and none white. You had Black areas, white areas, colored areas, and Indian areas. The none white races, not just the black race, did not enjoy, the same government benefits as those who lived, in the white areas, they did not get the same schooling opportunities, and they were not allowed to have high positions, in business within the white areas and within the government.

Blacks who did not follow the rules were beaten, they needed identification and permits to travel, and in some cases, they were even killed like during the Soweto uprising. Hundreds of thousands were relocated, by force, it was even the anniversary of one such relocation this week when a small black town of 70,000 was forced to relocate. All of this is true, what is not true is that they were commercial farmers and that they owned all the land in South Africa, but we will get to that later.

This is only one half of the story, South African blacks are not innocent victims, and not all of the South African blacks who live today, even experienced discrimination, to prove this we will show you a photo, taken in 1979, 15 years before apartheid ended.

The photo above is of Herman Mashaba in 1979 at the University of the North, Turfloop. 15 years before apartheid ended.

Herman Mashaba was brought up in near poverty in GaRamotse in Hammanskraal, north of Pretoria by his sisters while his mother worked to provide for the family.

His older brother dropped out of school at 15, moving from one unsubstantial job to another. Herman Mashaba, on the other hand, acquired an education, hoping to break out of the cycle of poverty. He graduated from high school but did not complete his tertiary education. We will do an opinion piece on education later this week, but for now just remember he did not finish university.

His first two jobs were as a clerk at Spar and then at a furniture manufacturer. This was during apartheid. After two years he was able to buy a car. (Notice he bought a car as a clerk something you can not do in South Africa today because of the cost of living) He started selling “SuperKurl” African hair-care products and became their number-one earner. He soon realized that he wanted to build his future using haircare products.

He partnered with his white Afrikaner colleague at SuperKurl (The same people he hates online) Johan Kriel and fellow salesman Joseph Molwantwa to launch the company, Black Like Me. It was launched on Valentine’s Day in 1985 ( 6 years before apartheid ended ) with a R 30,000 loan (Note: During Apartheid you could start a business with just R30000, Donald Trump in the USA had to borrow a million to start his first business) from Mashaba’s friend, businessman Walter Dube. Mashaba later bought out Kriel and Molwantwa.

In 2002 Black Like Me launched in the UK; this meant that Mashaba made history by being the first black business owner from a South African company to sell its products in the UK and international markets.

Over the years Herman Mashaba has invested in various sectors: mining, construction, exhibitions, real estate, security, aviation and IT.

Mashaba is also a music lover, who plays the piano.

So what can we conclude from the Herman Mashaba story: 1) Black people had access to education during apartheid. 2) University did not help him to become a success, in fact, today many people around the world with degrees, can not find jobs with those degrees, and multiple successful business people never finished college or university like: Bill Gates a college drop out; that is why in our liberal education system we focus on business skills. 3) The cost of living under apartheid was much lower than today, highlighting the difference between capitalism and socialist programs. 4) Getting a loan was not easy and Herman Mashaba had to get it from Walter Dube. 5) Most of the Apartheid government crimes were during the early stages of Apartheid.

Above is an image of the South African Bantu states.

The purpose was to concentrate the members of designated ethnic groups, thus making each of those territories ethnically homogeneous as the basis for creating autonomous nation-states. This started in the 1940’s. On social media, they claim that the whites forced the blacks into the desert to steal their land. The truth is all the Bantu States were located in the highest rainfall section of the country, all the Bantu states were autonomous, which meant they were self-ruled. All the Bantus in the Bantu states came from the same ethnic groups, spoke the same mother tongue, and practiced the same traditions.

If you lived in these Bantu states, and are 85 years old or younger, you never experienced the evils of apartheid as long as you stayed within its borders. This means a large portion of black South Africans never experienced apartheid.

The biggest problem with the Bantu states was, that they were broken pieces, instead of being one complete land, which meant you had to travel over racist territory to move from one section to the next. The Bantu states were also the reason why so many were evicted from their homes. Many were forcefully moved to the Bantu states because since 1970 black South Africans, lost their South African citizenship, and had to become citizens of one of the Bantu states. Today the vast majority of the ANC vote and the IFP vote comes from the territories that used to be Bantu states. The bulk of the DA, EFF, and MKP votes, comes from areas that were not part of the Bantu states.

Some think the new South Africa made a mistake, removing the Bantu states.

We found images similar to the one above all over the internet. Some South Africans at the end of apartheid, believed that the South African constitution should only contain basic human rights and that the central government should only enforce basic human rights, deal with international trade and national defense, and all the major tribal groups should have a autonomous area, where they will have a education system of their choosing, own tax system, and where they can follow ideologies of their choice. These ideas probably never made it to parliament or were flat-out ignored.

Now we get to the dark side of black South Africa during apartheid, the entire world knows about the dark side of what the whites did to blacks outside of the Bantu states but very few know about what the blacks did during apartheid.

During apartheid, blacks would execute other blacks if they did not support the ideas or goals of the resistance movement, by burning them alive in public. There was even a case where they inserted broken glass into a female victim’s vagina before burning her alive. Now imagine standing there watching someone burn alive and hearing the screams. This is psychopathic behavior.

At the time the ANC said in public that they did not support these actions, but they would still promote supporters of this practice in their ranks like Winnie Mandela, Nelson Mandela’s ex-wife. So they would say one thing in public but do the opposite in action.

In recent times the ANC-led government opened a case against Israel for killing women and children during their attack on Gaza. During apartheid, the ANC plotted to bomb schools and churches targeting women and children.

One aspect that many people online complain about is the whites colonizing South Africa, while they are colonizers. All of Africa South of the equator was bushman territory. The Bantu came from the north and colonized almost the entire area. The only place where you can still find Bushman, is in the southwest, the only territory the Bantu never colonized. Here is an interesting comparison. The territory colonized by the Europeans still has the people who used to live in those areas, the territory colonized by the Bantu is ethnically cleansed.

Poverty in South Africa

In the USA conservatives were traveling around the country in an attempt to reduce the amount of young people who were brainwashed, by the leftist education system.

In one of the sessions, a student asked why are there so many black people as a percentage who are partaking in crime, believing that the reason is oppression. The actual answer is culture. In the USA 80% of white people are married while in the black population, only 20% are married. Studies have shown that children who grow up without and mom and dad at home are more likely to engage in criminal activity. This has been known for decades, and the left has actively been at war with the nuclear family in an attempt, to turn the USA into a communist nation.

The same is true in South Africa one aspect that contributes to unemployment and weak economic growth is culture.

In South African culture you have to pay for women. Yes, you did not misread, in South Africa they sell women. If you meet a beautiful Zulu woman and you want to make her your wife, her family will ask you to pay 11 cows for her. That is about R110,000, now consider that most working South Africans only make R5000 per month. They can not afford to get married. The result is a large number of single black women, with children, but no husbands. Which according to studies will lead to higher rates of crime, and South Africa has one of the highest crime rates on earth.

Now let’s say, they do pay, now you have the problem, that some of the men, in the back of their minds, believe that their wife is his property, he paid for her, she has to do as he says, if she does not, he will beat her. In South Africa, you have a large number of domestic abuse.

South Africa has the 4th highest percentage of people with HIV in the world and the highest total amount of people on earth. 19% of South African Adults have HIV according to the World Bank. That is almost 1 out of every 5 people. To place that into perspective. If you walk on a road in South Africa and pass 6 people, there is a good possibility that one of them has HIV.

That places a massive burden on the South African finances and healthcare system. Money that could have been used to build infrastructure and create jobs now have to be used just to keep people alive.

So why do so many South Africans have HIV? They do not practice safe sex at all. If you study the image above, you will see how fast the black population is growing, There is no family planning and no safe sex, resulting in high amounts of people with sex-related illnesses. To add to this problem, in African culture men are allowed to have multiple wives, which helps sex-related illnesses to spread amongst more people.

Another problem is the rate at which the population is growing and the open borders. The economy can not grow fast enough to create enough jobs for the population. The result is poverty. Look at all the wealthiest nations on earth. The first thing China did was to limit the population to one child per couple, resulting in wealth and growth, only problem is China overdid it. The Chinese GDP and economy are set to crash within the next 20 years. There is no population growth, they are running out of rare earth elements and the USA wants to balance the trade imbalance. China is making more money from US trade than the US makes from China. The US wants to equal the trade out, which will cost China 300 billion US Dollars.

The next problem is over-taxation. The government is taking too much money out of the economy. If you get R20,000 and you pay 10% total tax, you are left with R18,000 which you spend in the economy, but if you get R20,000 and the total tax adds up to 50% you can only spend R10,000 in the economy.

The less people spend in the economy, the less business opportunities are created, the less employment opportunities and eventually, the government will make less money. In the end the entire economy will crash.

South Africa’s poverty has nothing to do with apartheid but with the government and their own culture.
