admiration
She asked, soft and casual,
“How are you feeling?”
And in the hush of my mind
a thousand unspoken truths rose like incense.
quietly undone
by the flawless midnight of your skin,
a canvas so rich the moon borrows its glow from you.
I am lost in your eyes
the warm, endless,
deep wells where galaxies drift
and I willingly drown.
I am helpless
before your big, beautiful smile,
a sunrise that splits the sky open,
a force gentle enough to cradle the world
Yet strong enough to bring kings to their knees.
I am breathless
the perfection of your body,
curves that make goddesses
whisper jealous prayers in forgotten temples.
But every word I reach for
falls short,
crumbles like ash on my tongue.
Even “I love you”
is too small,
too thin,
too mortal
to carry the weight of this worship.
So I swallowed the storm
and answered with a shrug:
“Oh, nothing.”
While inside,
every star burns
just for you.
