The motivation behind this working hours proposal.

This working hours proposal is intended to increase employment opportunities, decrease crime, improve family structure, decrease the number of individuals suffering from gender dysphoria, and uplift the general psychological health of the population.

Employees this proposal is not intent for.

This opinion on working hours is for all employees except personnel working in hospitals, fire stations, law enforcement, security, hotel hostesses, human transportation, and student employees,

Definition of employees to whom this proposal does not apply to:

Hospital employee: Personal working at hospitals.

Fire station employee: Personal working at fire stations.

Law enforcement: Personal whom is charge with enforcing local, state and federal law.

Security employee: Personal whom is paid by a private Citizen or a business or company, for the sole purpose of protecting property, and/or employees and/or personal from persons or entities who what to do it or them harm or to steal property, products or services from them.

Hotel Hostess: A person job description is limited to booking clients in and out of accommodation and receiving payments from clients for accommodation, nothing else.

Human transportation: Businesses that transport humans from point A to point B and businesses that supply the energy source that human transport vehicles use to travel from point A to B.

Student employees: Full-time students who only work during University and college break periods.

Recrements to ensure that this proposal works

For this working hours proposal to succeed, the following will be needed:

  1. A high import tax on products produced; outside a country’s borders. This will ensure that local products are not swamped by products produced cheaply elsewhere.
  2. A minimal employee cap per turnover. Automated systems and AI (Artefactual intelligence) can reduce employment opportunities, reducing the average citizen’s income, leading to a loss of buying power, business opportunities, and poverty within a country’s borders. A minimal employee cap per turnover will require a business to have a minimal amount of people on the payroll according to the turnover of that business. These employees may not be on the payroll of other companies. This is to prevent all the companies from paying only a handful of citizens and to increase employment opportunities, thus increasing the competition to attract employees. This cap on minimal employees on the payroll must be according to business type. Not all business types have the same profit margin. For example: a business that buys a physical product has to pay for that physical product from its turnover while a business that does not have a physical product, does not have that expense. One cap will not fit all.
  3. Import assembly policy. Selected products, may not be imported fully assembled, but have to be assembled within the country, providing employment opportunities.
  4. Do away with all public holidays and implement feast days.

The proposal

An employee may only work 6 hours and 30 minutes 6 days a week within 24 hours and one 24-hour period off.

The following exceptions apply:

Examples of feast days for the United States of America and South Africa. These only serve as examples and can be changed according to each nations traditions and religious convictions.

How this proposal is expected to affect society if implemented

Reduce Crime: Studies have shown that children who grow up in a family that does not have a mother and father figure at home are more likely to engage in crime than children who have a father and mother figure at home. Shorter working hours and off days will allow the parents to spend more time together, reducing the divorce rate, and domestic violence. During COVID-19, a spike in domestic violence was observed, because of current working hours couples lived past each other and became strangers who shared the same living space. Shorter working hours and off days allow parents to spend more time with their children. Crime levels are also affected by the availability of work. The fewer employment opportunities available, the higher the crime rate. Shorter working hours will lead to more employee hiring, and a law capping employment to a minimal level according to turnover and category, will force businesses to place people on the payroll rather than to replace them with automated systems and/or AI. However businesses can still replace physical workers with automated systems and AI, but they will still have to pay a set amount of humans, ensuring the security of the economic system.

Reduce people who suffer from gender dysphoria: Children who do not have a figure at home of the same gender as themselves are more likely to develop gender dysphoria. Shorter working hours and off days allow both parents to spend more time with their children, which will assist in mental development.

Increase employment opportunities: When employees work 12-hour shifts only 2 can cover 24 hours, if they work 8 only 3 are needed to cover 24 hours if it’s 6 hours you will need 4. Why 6 hours 30 mins? 15 minutes to hand over shifts. At each end of the shift, there are 15 minutes for the previous shift to update the incoming shift. Besides working hours 2 other major factors and several smaller factors help with employment creation. The larger the amount of people being paid the larger the amount of goods and servers that can be sold. The larger the amount of money each person has left over after paying tax, accommodation, food, water, energy, and transportation, the larger the country’s economy will grow, and the richer the poorest person in the country will be. These are the 2 major factors: Cost of living and the physical amount of people being paid.

General psychological health of the population: Humans are social creatures, shorter working hours and off days allow workers to engage in social settings which will improve their mental state.
